1. Gillespie County provides an accident policy for emergency responders. There is a $10,000 maximum benefit for death, dismemberment, loss of sight, speech or hearing and for cosmetic disfigurement from burns. It also has a $100.00 injury disability benefit.

2. The department also carries a workman’s compensation policy that covers firefighters as well as clerical personnel for injury sustained while performing their duties with TLVFD. This is much more extensive than the accident policy provided by Gillespie County. It provides liberal medical and wage loss coverage as directed in the Texas workman’s compensation regulations. This policy is written with Texas Mutual Insurance Co. through Frantzen, Kaderli & Klier.
