GENERAL

Fire Department equipment is generally secured by contributions from residents within our department boundaries. Therefore, we feel that it is reasonable to allow some equipment use by the districts residents.

The following direction should ensure the consistent application of our loaning equipment to residents.

Acceptable requests for equipment will be approved on a first come - first serve basis. However, fire department business followed by elections will receive priority over other uses.

Requests for department equipment must be made to and approved by the Chief, Deputy Chief or Assistant Chief. Any abuse of equipment will result in the abusing user being removed from eligibility for future use.

Our intent is to have the equipment used only for personal or community benefit use but they will not be loaned out for any form of commercial use.

Resident users should be aware that their use may be cancelled or disrupted in the event of an emergency situation. In addition, the following restrictions may not apply to requests from cooperating fire departments and cooperating agencies.

TABLES & CHAIRS

Residents may borrow tables and chairs for private or homeowner association functions within the department boundaries.

BBQ TRAILER

The BBQ trailer is not licensed for public roads so its use must be confined to the ranch. It can be used anywhere on the ranch for events sponsored by the fire department or the ranch board (for example, a RAG function). In addition, the trailer must be accompanied by a department member. The borrower must supply the tow vehicle.

THE FIRE STATION

The fire station can be used only for events that are in the fire districts residents public interest and benefit. Such events must be sponsored by the fire department, Gillespie County Authorized Elections or a home owners association.
